Last year, I started a new tradition for this blog. To recap the year by sharing a few of my favorite things with you. you can view my favorite things from 2015 here.
This year, I felt like it was especially important to recap positive things about this year. There has been so much buzz about how 2016 was such a bad year. And yes, I was one of those people with my jaw on the floor in horror on election night.
But you know what? I try not to measure my happiness by political elections and which celebrities are still alive. I had some amazing times this year. I traveled to Door County, Wisconsin with my family twice and Florida once. In September, my husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. I discovered Hamilton, and listened to nothing else for 9 months. I welcomed a new niece and a new nephew. And literally days after my husband and I decided to have a third child, I found out that I was expecting myself. – Bringing another perfect baby boy into the world turned out to be the best decision I made all year, which brings me to my first favorite.

Favorite New Cooking Adventure: Cooking Meatloaf in the slow cooker. It took me 10 years of marriage to make my first meatloaf. I cooked it in the slow cooker, and now my family is hooked.
Favorite New Tradition: This was the second year in a row- doing a Christmas tea with a few of the ladies in my family. I am going to do a post about our Christmas Tea soon! ( hopefully)
Favorite Recipe: Although not my most popular recipe this year, my favorite were these Sour Cream and Onion Deviled Eggs
Favorite Discovery: For my birthday, my husband got me Ancestry.com’s DNA kit. And I discovered that I was almost 20% Irish! ( didn’t know I was Irish at all before this). I highly suggest this DNA kit for anyone who is interested in family history.
