In my hometown, if you order Hawaiian pizza, it comes with a barbecue sauce base and it’s fabulous. I wanted to create an easy, one pot Hawaiian pizza dish at home. This One-Pot Barbecue Hawaiian Pizza Skillet is easy and lighter than your traditional Hawaiian pizza.
I made this dish last week when my brother came to visit. He loved it.
When making this dish, I used KC Masterpiece Sweet Honey and Molasses Barbecue Sauce. It was sweet and paired perfectly with the Canadian Bacon and caramelized onions that I used in this dish.
KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce is from Kansas City, and it’s one of the most popular barbecue sauces in America today. This Barbecue Sauce tasted smokey, sweet and rich. For more recipes using KC Masterpiece products, visit their website or visit them on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram.
I love this one-pot meal. It was so easy, and I love that this only used one pan. ( no extra dishes!)
One-Pot Barbecue Hawaiian Pizza Quinoa Skillet
2 slices of bacon, chopped
1/2 a small onion- chopped
1/2 cup of Canadian Bacon
1 cup of quinoa
2 cups of vegetable broth- or chicken broth
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of KC Masterpiece Sweet Honey and Molasses Barbecue Sauce
1 cup of pineapple chunks
1 cup of mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup of tomato chunks
Method: In a Saucepan, cook 2 slices of chopped bacon. Add onions and cook until brown. Add Canadian bacon and cook Canadian bacon until it turns slightly crisp. Add Quinoa, vegetable broth, water and tomato chunks. Put the lid on saucepan and cook the quinoa until the quinoa is soft and cooked. Add barbecue sauce and stir into the mixture. Add pineapple and mozzarella cheese. Let cheese melt before removing from the heat.
You could make this dish using any flavor of pizza, but any barbecue pizza is my favorite. This recipe took barely any time and was delicious!
