Here is just a quick recipe for you. We have made a lot of tasty healthy smoothies for my 3-year-old. You see he is earning LOTS of treats these days! ( Potty Training) And it’s finally actually going really well 🙂
Here is one I made for him. A healthy Orange-Chocolate Milkshake. No, there is no sugar added. And Yes, It is made from frozen bananas. I am becoming extremely predictable these days aren’t I?
I have added citrus to my frozen banana desserts two times recently, and since they both turned out well, I wanted to try it again. Both, my Key Lime Pie Ice Cream and my Healthy Lemon Ice Cream turned out fantastic! I think the secret is, to add as much zest as possible for added flavor. I love the taste of citrus in the winter.
- 2 frozen bananas
- Juice from one orange
- zest from one orange
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons of almond milk or another milk of your choosing
- Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend.
This is a wonderfully healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth!
