I hardly ever buy french fries, but I did a few weeks ago when my husband was out-of-town. And do you know what my two-year he told me as he was dipping them in ketchup and eating them? savoring them?
” Mommy I am so Happy right now!”
What was making him happy? The French Fries. Oh my goodness! I have been depriving my child of happiness! And although, there are worse options than store purchased frozen fries. There are better options too.
Before kids, my husband and I made oven fries all the time, but I just don’t have time to cut them all up and wait 40 minutes for them to cook. So, I decided to try these freezer fries. They’re easy, cheap and taste delicious. Plus you can make different flavors.
I made two different flavors. The fries above are paprika fries.
Just follow these simple steps.
Ingredients potatoes Peeled and cut into “fry shapes” seasonings. I made two batches. Paprika and Garlic. I also added a little salt to each kind
1. Cut potatoes into fry shapes. ( any shape you prefer) I cut an entire bag of potatoes.
2. Boil in water for exactly five minutes.
5) Lay the fries flat on a baking sheet, so that they do not touch each other. I was making a lot at one time. I used parchment paper and froze three layers on one baking sheet
6.) After the fries freeze for about an hour, you can take them out of the freezer and store them in plastic bags. The reason why it’s important to freeze them flat first is so they don’t stick together.
When you are ready to eat the fries: Preheat the oven to 400 Spread the fries on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes OR until your desired level of Crispy ness is achieved
