Last night on my Facebook Page, I told you guys that I would be posting a recipe today. I was actually going to post an entirely different recipe! But at about 7:30 last night I decided to give this a try!
Also on my Facebook page, I mentioned that I recently purchased a food dehydrator. It has been on constantly since Sunday. I have dehydrated EVERYTHING in my kitchen! I am almost a little scared that my blog might turn into a ” food dehydration” blog. I will try to restrain myself!
This is my new food dehydrator. I was actually going to post about garlic zucchini chips. ( another time perhaps). So far I have dehydrated zucchini, Sweet Potatoes, Bananas and now KIWIS! I just happen to have 2 kiwis on the bottom of my fruit bowl ( that my 16 month old rejected).
Last night after my small fry went to bed, I was cleaning the kitchen and I spotted these Kiwis. I cut them up and threw them into the dehydrator and let them sit overnight.
This morning I woke up to this.
A Wonderfully crispy tart Kiwi Chip! They taste awesome!
After taking some pictures. My son and I gobbled them up for breakfast! All I have to say is how cute would these be as a garnish on top of a dessert? THAT would be show stopping! I can’t wait to get to the store so I can buy more kiwis to make into chips! What an AMAZING snack!
Kiwi Chips
1) Slice into 1/4 inch slices and remove skin.
2) Put them in your food dehydrator for 12 hours.
That is it!
enjoy!

yummy!
Wow, I have never seen kiwi chips and would never even think to make them. I have a 16 month old as well. I think sometimes the kiwi is harder for her to chew. Of course if there is any possibility of a red fruit coming her way, she will not eat any other color. Have you ever dried peas? I wouldn’t even think to give her some, but another mommy had some and my daughter ate them up. NOw I am thinking of making some at home.
Oh my goodness, YUM! These look so good!
What a fantastic idea. You make me want to go out and by a food dehydrator, if only I had the cupboard space.
They look so pretty! Never thought of kiwi, I like to do herbs
Will be trying this. My daughter loves kiwis.
These look so good! We got a food dehydrator for a yard sale but it crapped out on us immediately. I need to get another so I can try this!
Thanks so much for linking up to Monday Funday!
Would these be dry enough to grind to a powder? I’m going abroad for a couple of weeks and am thinking of trying to dry my usual juicing Vegs and grinding them to powder to take with me.
