Before I start telling you about Mahi Mahi Sticks, I must make one thing clear. These are not meant to be ” healthier” fish sticks! I would never buy fish sticks! EVER! I was given fish sticks as a child a few times and they are just gross!
On this blog, I have made healthier versions of pumpkin pies, calzones, onion rings and chips. Among other things. These are just a new way to prepare fish to get your kids to appreciate a healthy fish dish.
And I totally know what you are thinking. ’ Why is this girl always breading everything?’ that’s not healthy. WELL, I am not frying these items and I enjoy things crunchy! SO there!
The weeks leading up to Christmas, I was trying to clean out my freezer before heading out-of-town. I had a package of Mahi Mahi that I purchased at Costo. I ALWAYS defrost my fish in hot water. NEVER the microwave!
I cut each piece of fish into 4 or 5 sticks and quickly breaded them with Italian breadcrumbs. I used no eggs. The breadcrumbs stuck on wonderfully anyway.
I baked the sticks for 17 minutes at 350 degrees.
When I saw that my Mahi Mahi Sticks were crisp to my satisfaction i took them out of the oven. It is very important not to over cook fish.
My whole family loved these! I served them with a garlic tarter sauce. My son ate them with ketchup!
I will make these again! the frozen fish available at Costco is reasonably priced and wonderful!

Those look very delicious and I can imagine perfect for New Year menu! wishing you wonderful New Year!!!
